Old Trafford does something to people. Even before you get inside, the city shifts — the red shirts multiply, the chants start leaking out of pub doorways, and the whole thing starts to feel like something worth travelling for.

Your day starts properly. Your local host — a genuine United fan, not a tour guide — meets you at one of the match-day pubs the tourists don't know about. You'll have a pint, hear a few stories about the club that you won't find on Wikipedia, and fall into the rhythm of how Mancunians do matchday.

From there, you make your way to the ground with the crowd — past the Munich memorial, past the statues, through the noise and the colour that only Old Trafford produces. Three hours before kick-off, the 500 Club lounge opens. It's calm in there. Padded seats, a hot meal from the food station, tea and coffee at half-time, and your official matchday programme waiting on arrival. A proper pause before the atmosphere cranks up.

When the game starts, you're in the North-East corner — Block NE3426, rows 23 to 30, all seats together. Good sightlines, a strong atmosphere, and the kind of comfort that means you're focused on the football rather than shifting around on a plastic seat for 90 minutes.
