Went to the LDU Quito v Libertad game in May with Christian. I was in Ecuador mainly to experience the Guayaquil derby and see some of the country. Christian was an absolute legend and made my trip so much more enjoyable. Prior to the LDU game he got in touch to give me advice on securing tickets for the derby game which was a massive help. In Quito he met me before the game and took me to the area where the ultras meet. An amazing neighbourhood which was also where the shop the ultras run was located. To experience this culture in South America was something I really hoped would happen and Christian sorted it for me. He even met me to watch the FA cup final in a cafe as my wife and son were at Wembley to see Crystal Palace lift the trophy. Christian went above and beyond to made my whole experience in Ecuador something I’ll remember forever and I can’t thank him enough for that

I’m really glad I could help with the Guayaquil derby and, of course, take you into the world around LDU Quito and the culture of the ultras. Sharing those experiences with someone who genuinely wanted to understand and feel the passion of South American football made it even more special. And watching the FA Cup final together was definitely a memorable moment too, especially knowing your wife and son were at Wembley celebrating Crystal Palace’s win!
