Two pioneering sport experience companies unite to bring European and South American events to fans across an underserved region — starting in Georgia.
MATCHDAY, a Tbilisi-based sport experience company, and Homefans, the internationally renowned sport travel specialists, have announced an exclusive strategic partnership designed to bring authentic, premium sport experiences to fans across Georgia – and soon across Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, and the wider region.
United by the same passion for the game and high standards for travel and hospitality, the partnership targets high-profile fixtures across Europe and South America. This season alone, they've already delivered more than 10 tours to marquee events across England, France, Italy, Argentina, and Brazil.
Beyond football, MATCHDAY by Setanta and Homefans are planning expansion into motorsport and participatory events such as international marathons – broadening the definition of what a "sport experience" can mean for fans in the region.
"Our first ambition was to give fans in our region access to the moments they had only ever dreamed of watching on screen – Derby Della Madonina, Le Classique, South American derbies. That dream is now a reality. But this is only the beginning. Through our partnership with Homefans, we are looking to scale fast – bringing more sports, more destinations, and more unforgettable experiences to fans across our region." — Davit Chikhladze, Head of Sport Experience at MATCH DAY
The geographic ambitions of the partnership don't stop at Georgia. MATCHDAY has identified Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan as priority markets for next season, with further expansion across Central Asia and beyond already under active discussion.
Daniel Velásquez, Founder & CCO at Homefans, highlighted the long-term vision behind the partnership and the evolution of sports travel experiences across the globe:
“We’re incredibly proud to officially announce this partnership with MATCHDAY by Setanta. It’s the result of more than two years of conversations, shared vision, and hard work that has finally come to life.At Homefans, we strongly believe the future of sports travel is not just about providing access to a ticket — it’s about making fans feel part of something bigger. The goal is to help people experience the game like a local, connect with the culture, and create memories that go far beyond the 90 minutes.
MATCHDAY by Setanta is the perfect partner to bring that vision to life in the Caucasus and Central Asia. Together, we want to continue pushing the boundaries of sports experiences globally and inspire more fans to discover the world through sport.”
The two companies describe the collaboration as a genuine win-win – combining Homefans' established international network and operational expertise with MATCHDAY's deep regional knowledge and growing community of passionate fans.
