Bilbao & the Left Bank Groundhopping Experience: 5 Stadiums

Discover Bilbao and the Left Bank through five stadiums and the football stories behind them.

This half-day groundhopping experience takes you beyond the biggest names to explore the clubs, grounds and neighborhoods that have helped shape football culture in the area.

We’ll trace the story from Campa de los Ingleses, one of the places connected to the beginnings of football in Bilbao, and continue through different stadiums across Bilbao and the Left Bank, finishing at San Jorge in Santurtzi.

Along the way, you’ll discover the stories behind the clubs that play in these grounds, their connection to their neighborhoods and the role football has played in the identity of this part of the Basque Country.

Rather than simply stopping outside five stadiums for photos, the idea is to understand the football culture that connects them and discover a side of the area that many visitors never see.

If you’re a groundhopper or simply curious about football history and local clubs, this is a chance to explore Bilbao from a completely different perspective.
