And there’s no better way to experience it than living it through the eyes of true fans—one from each side of the city.
In this exclusive football weekend, you’ll be hosted by Luiz (Sporting CP) and Gonçalo (Benfica), two locals who don’t just support their clubs—they embody them. With them, you’ll get a unique, balanced view of one of Europe’s most intense rivalries.
Your experience includes 3 nights at a handpicked central hotel (Luzeiros Suites or similar), and guided tours of both stadiums, where you’ll learn about the history, legends, and deep identity of each club. Expect stories of generational loyalty, epic title races, and the talent Lisbon gave to the world—from Eusébio to Figo, João Félix, and Cristiano Ronaldo.
On derby day, you’ll explore the city’s football heartbeat during a walking tour on some landmarks, followed by a quick lunch in the company of both hosts. Whether you’re on the red side or the green side—or just here for the atmosphere—you’ll feel the build-up in the streets, hear the chants, and understand just how much this match means.
The derby venue alternates between Estádio da Luz and Estádio José Alvalade, and your hosts will make sure everything runs smoothly—tickets, logistics, and all the matchday rituals that make this rivalry so special.
Whether you’re a neutral fan or already leaning red or green, this trip goes far beyond the 90 minutes. It’s a full immersion into Lisbon’s culture, identity, and football soul.
Trip Planning
This weekend in Lisbon is dedicated to the people who love football culture. Which means great atmospheres, cheap and delicious food, good local beers, and endless fun! Today, we’ll welcome you and check you in to your quality hotel Luzeiros Suites. To start the weekend in good shape, your host will greet you and show you around the city. After that, we can extend the night and go to some of the best bars in town at Cais do Sodré or you enjoy the city yourself. The first day you’ll have plenty of free time and options to explore the best parts of the city!
The colourful Lisboa has a lot to offer football wise, not only thinking about the big players that use to play for both sides, but there are 2 beautiful stadiums to explore! We will start visiting the José Alvalade Stadium around 11am, with the VIP hall, press room, locker room and the ground, where you can take a very cool photo! Then, the Estadio da Luz is waiting for us! Note: You can choose diffrent options for the Benfica stadium tour – Contact our sales team
Finally, the big day is here, Sporting and Benfica will clash and see who’s the boss of Lisbon. Our day will start in a selected meeting point to do a small walking tour covering some of Lisbon iconic landmarks. Then, together with Luiz and Gonçalo, you will enjoy a lunch with best of both worlds, as they are Benfica and Sporting fans! Finally, time to feeling the atmosphere among the Local Team fans while enjoying a cold beer before we walk to the gates. Once inside the stadium, get to your seat and relax, it’s time to enjoy!
Back to normalcy. You will wake up still feeling the blast from the day before. And that’s fine, trust us. Time to bid a farewell to your local host and fellow travellers and exchange contacts. Hopefully some new friendships for life. Time to say goodbye…until the next football adventure with Homefans.

I'm going to try keep this concise. Lisbon is a BEAUTIFUL city with a lovely charm and a relaxed vibe which was great to be part of. My local host/guide, Ricardo, was a brilliant host and person who guided us to multiple lovely places for my group to see and enjoy. My hotel (Lisbon City Hotel) was at a great location at Intendente which gets lively at night with an outdoor DJ/performer where drinks are flowing and it has many restaurants and shops nearby. Whilst the action on the pitch was disappointing in the Lisbon derby, I loved the atmosphere and being at a wonderful stadium of Sporting's, along with Benfica's for the stadium tour. I look forward to my next trip with Homefans.
