My name is Sven, and De Grolsch Veste is a five-minute bike ride from my front door. On matchday, that ride is one of my favourite moments of the week.

I grew up with FC Twente. Not just as a fan who watches the games, but as someone from this region, where the club isn’t just a football team. It’s part of who people here are. The Twente region has its own identity, its own culture, and FC Twente sits right at the heart of it. That connection is real, and I want to show it to you.

Then we get on our bikes and ride to the stadium together, part of a stream of supporters all heading in the same direction. Before we go in, I take you around the ground, show you where things happen and why, so that once you’re inside it all makes sense.

Then we watch the match. I want Twente to win. I’m not a neutral guide and I have no interest in pretending to be one. But I’m paying attention to your experience too. I’ll explain what’s happening on the pitch, why the crowd reacts the way it does, what a chant means, why a certain player gets that reaction every time he touches the ball.
