What we will do in this experience

Immerse yourself in the passion of Argentine football at the Estadio Ciudad de Vicente López, home of Platense. The “Calamar,” as its fans call it, is one of the most traditional clubs in Buenos Aires, with a loyal following that fills every match with color and encouragement.

The experience begins with our local guide, who will greet you and tell you stories about Platense and the Saavedra neighborhood, the cradle of neighborhood identity and soccer culture. We’ll walk among brown and white jerseys until we reach the stadium, where the matchday atmosphere can already be felt several blocks away.

Once inside, you’ll experience 90 minutes of pure excitement: chants, drums, and a crowd that never stops talking. Argentine soccer at its best, accompanied by locals who live it with their hearts.

You don’t have to be a fan: if you want to discover what football is truly like in Buenos Aires, an afternoon with Platense is an experience you won’t forget.

The host, Adrian, was incredibly dedicated and impressed me with an exceptional level of football knowledge that you rarely come across. The match featuring Platense was a refreshing contrast to the big-club games and offered a completely different, very authentic experience. The atmosphere in the small stadium was fantastic and truly something you have to experience for yourself. The local fans created a warm and welcoming vibe, making us feel part of the crowd. Getting to and from the stadium by Uber was absolutely hassle-free and surprisingly affordable. Standing behind the goal added a real, up-close fan experience and made the match even more intense. If you’re looking to experience something different beyond the big clubs, this is an absolute must!

The surprise package of the Apertura, although they have struggled in the subsequent Clausura - and this match too - this is such a friendly club and we had a fabulous time. Adrian was an excellent host (with first class knowledge of world football - even the second tier in Scotland!) and it was great to also meet Tomas who runs Gira Futbolera so brilliantly.

Platense was out last of 9 games and beforehand we weren't sure if we were going to go as we had our flight early the next morning. However, we are so glad we did!!! Adrian was absolutely brilliant giving us the history and background to this lesser known team in BA and the little old school stadium was brilliant!! Absolutely cracking night... A great evening out at one of the smaller stadiums to see current champions Platense play the current league leaders, Deportivo Riestra. Our host, Ezequiel, made sure everything went smoothly and was very knowledgeable about the club and its history. Everything was very well organised by Gira Futbolera. Thanks for a great experience.

We organised our first game on our trip to Buenos Aires to the Platense game with Gira Futbolera. Deborah picked us up and gave us a guided tour through the city on our way to the ground. It was one of the smaller grounds we visited but it had a great family feel and the locals were very friendly. A great stadium to ease yourself into the Argentine football experience.

This was my first experience of Argentine football. We were picked up by Debra, taken to the ground with a fantastic explanation of what was happening and history of Buenos Aires. This was the ground of the current champions. It was raw but very friendly with many fans wanting to talk to us. We stood on the terracing and did not feel intimidated. We also met Eze and Thomas who had bought in other fans. A great start with a smaller stadium but very vocal crowd 👍🥳

Had a great day out at Platense, who currently are the surprise champions of Argentina. Ezequiel was a great host. He's very attentive and passionate, and it shows. The atmosphere at the ground is very nice. A bit different compared to the bigger teams, but perhaps more authentic. I would very much recommend this trip.

A great ground to visit to enjoy a friendly traditional club. We enjoyed talking to the fans on the terraces whilst watching the current champions of Argentina football in action.
