We begin at the site of the former Atocha Stadium, once home to Real Sociedad and one of the most iconic, vanished grounds in Spanish football history. After a stop at the modern Anoeta (Reale Arena) to discuss the evolution of the game, we leave the mainstream behind to explore the traditional grounds that represent the heart of the local community.
Using the local public transport, we travel to Don Bosco (home of CD Pasajes), Fandería (home of CD Touring and a symbol of local football culture in Errenteria), and finally Stadium Gal in Irún — a historic ground in a border city that played a key role in the early development of football in Spain.

📍 Plaza de Oquendo (Meeting Point)
We meet in the city centre, next to the Urumea River, where we’ll introduce the experience and set the historical context of football in San Sebastián — from its earliest days to its deep-rooted place in Basque culture.

We begin at the site of the legendary Atocha/Atotxa. Though the stadium is gone, this is where Real Sociedad’s identity was forged. Here we revisit iconic moments, packed terraces, and the story behind one of Spain’s most atmospheric grounds — including the famous “curse of Mr. Comet.”

A short walk takes us to Anoeta, the modern home of Real Sociedad. This stop helps us understand the transition from old to new: how football, stadiums, and the city itself evolved over time.

Our first stop outside San Sebastián takes us to Don Bosco, linked to Pasaia KE, a club from the nearby port district that spent years as a nomadic team playing in grounds across the region before finally establishing themselves here.
