The Ultimate Brazil Football Trip – Samba, Goals & Good Vibes
If football has a heartbeat, it’s in Brazil.
This is not just a trip — it’s a pilgrimage to the land where football isn’t just a game, it’s a way of life. From the chaotic energy of São Paulo to the sun-soaked charm of Rio de Janeiro, this journey takes you straight to the core of Brazil’s football soul.
We’ll kick things off in São Paulo, Brazil’s biggest and most electric city — a place where rivalries run deep and football is never far away. Here, you’ll dive into the world of giants like Corinthians, Palmeiras, São Paulo FC, and Santos — the club that gave us Pelé and Neymar. Expect big stadiums, big crowds, and bigger emotions, all shared with local fans who live every game like a final.
Then, we head to Rio de Janeiro — a city that doesn’t just play football, it dances with it. Maracanã. Copacabana. Samba. Caipirinhas at sunset. Whether you’re cheering at a Flamengo game or soaking in the atmosphere at Fluminense, Vasco or Botafogo, you’ll be swept up in a football fever that pulses through every street.
This is more than watching matches. It’s about pre-game beers and street food with locals, beach kickabouts, and seeing the sport in its purest, most joyful form. You’ll meet fans from Brazil and beyond, all brought together by a love for the game and a thirst for adventure.
What’s included in your experience:
-
4 epic matchday experiences (2 in São Paulo + 2 in Rio), including local transportation, match tickets, 2 beers and pre-game food
-

-

Come with an open mind, a love for football, and a craving for something real.
This is Brazil like you’ve never seen it. This is football the Brazilian way.
Obrigado, and see you under the sun.

São Paulo is eagerly waiting for you! The city is by far the most important city in the country. And here the journey begins! A private car will pick you up at the airport and take you to your hotel in the city center. And why not begin the experience with some Brazilian steaks and some caipirinhas? Enjoy the most out of your first day and feel the heat!
Let’s wake up early because we have got a busy day ahead! After a delicious breakfast, you will meet our local host and together, make our way to the stadium of Palmeiras, the Allianz Parque. We will get to know more about the stadium, which is one of the most modern stadiums in Brazil and home to the city’s club with Italian roots. After the tour, be sure to enjoy a great lunch around the stadium, in the most traditional bars in Barra Funda and with typical Italian food. In the afternoon, we will go to the South Zone and do a stadium tour at São Paulo FC, the most successful club in the country!
Today is all about green and white! We will have our first matchday experience! You will meet our local host around 4 hours before the match, take the subway and go to the pre-match, where you will have some beers with Palmeiras supporters. Around 1 hour before the match starts, he will escort you to your seats. Then, sit down and watch 90 minutes of football! Enjoy!
Get yourself ready to watch Corinthians! The local host is a Corinthians fan, so he knows everything about his club and will be able to share some amazing stories. Before the match, he will take you to a bar and have some beers with Corinthians supporters. They always play a lot of music before the match starts! Corinthians over the past years is fighting for the 1st place in the league and any match is magical, and anything can happen in a thrilling Arena Corinthians! At night, we will embark on a bus towards Rio de Janeiro!
Rio de Janeiro is eagerly waiting for you! The city is by far the most touristic and beautiful in the country. And here the second part of the journey begins! After arriving, we will check-in to our hotel at Copacabana Beach, which is around 6 minutes walking distance from the beach. At night, your trip manager and local host will be available to give you the best tips and directions for whatever you need.
It is time for the Maracanã Stadium Tour! Officially called Estádio Mário Filho, was built to serve as the flagship venue for the 1950 World Cup. It was meant to become the biggest football stadium in the world. Construction began in August 1948 and was completed almost two years later. Eight days later, Maracanã hosted the opening match of the 1950 World Cup between Brazil and Mexico (4-0). It would go on to host four more matches in the first round group stage and a further three in the second round stage, among which the deciding final match between Uruguay and Brazil (2-1). The official attendance of the final was about 173,000 paying spectators, but it is estimated that more than 200,000 witnessed the game live from the stands. When Brazil got awarded the 2014 World Cup in 2007, it was clear that Maracanã was destined to host the final and would, therefore, need a massive redevelopment. Our local host will meet you in the hotel and head by subway to the stadium. We’ve been many times with groups over there and we can’t get enough of this! Every time you step on the field, magical things can happen!
Today will be dedicated to some quality group time at the beach in the morning and football in the afternoon/night! We will meet up around 9:00, book a nice place at Copacabana and get some sun while drinking beers and caipirinhas, wrapping up the weekend. After that, we can have lunch and go to a wonderful Flamengo match. The team’s colours are red and black with a vulture as a mascot and the boastful slogan of O Mais Querido do Brasil (the most beloved in Brazil). You will go together with your local host by subway to Flamengo’s supporters pre-match, with tons of beers, steaks and samba! Enjoy the atmosphere, take photos and make sure you will remember this experience forever!
In the morning, your host will take you to the Homefans Favela Tour and get to know the life inside the slums and try different local food! We will hike the “Two Brothers” hill and have the best view of the city! After that, in the afternoon, we will go to the most old school and authentic stadium in Brazil, São Januário, from Vasco da Gama. We will get a tour at the stadium that is located in the middle of the favelas. Vasco da Gama was a Portuguese explorer and the first European to reach India by sea. We can also have lunch in their headquarters and taste some beautiful codfish. The ground has a capacity of around 15,000 supporters and the Ultras are one of the most intense in Brazil. A nice curiosity to know about: The club raised through their youth academy names such as Romário, Juninho and Phillipe Coutinho. So there’s plenty of history to learn about!
The second Rio matchday experience! You will meet our local host in your hotel and go together in taxis (far away from Copacabana) to Vasco da Gama area, located in a rough part of Rio. Expect a lot of noise, barbecue with amazing steaks all over the place, samba and a lot of party in the pre-match! A place where Vasco da Gama supporters meet before the match. There we will listen to their stories about their club whilst enjoying a beer or two! Once we soaked up this pre-match atmosphere, we will make our way to the stadium. We are sure you will hear a lot of chants, flags and an atmosphere you have never seen before in your life.
The last full day of your unforgettable trip in Brazil. Today, you are free to explore and do whatever you have in mind for your last day in Rio de Janeiro. Do some sightseeing, relax at the Copacabana, whatever you decide, we are here to help with any recommendations for the day.
End of the journey! It is time to say goodbye, pack your stuff and go back home! If you booked the extra airport transfer, a private car will pick you up in the hotel and take you to the airport, called Galeão. Please be ready around 4 hours before your flight, because of traffic and possible delays. Our Operations Team will send you the exact times when we receive your flight information. Safe travels to everybody!

Joining the Brazil trip was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. It’s not just about the football (although the matches at Maracanã, Botafogo and in São Paulo were absolutely amazing)—it’s about the people you meet and the connections you make. I traveled solo, but within hours, I felt like I was part of a group of like-minded fans from all over the world. Homefans and all locals didn’t just deliver an incredible trip; they helped me to meet other great people too!

The Ultimate Brazil: São Paulo & Rio trip was everything I hoped for and more! Experiencing the passion of Brazilian football at Morumbi, Vasco and Maracanã was absolutely surreal, and the local hosts made it so much more than just about the games. From exploring vibrant neighborhoods in São Paulo to relaxing on Copacabana Beach in Rio, every moment felt authentic and exciting. The perfect mix of football, culture, and free time made this trip unforgettable—thank you, Homefans, Matheus and alll locals!

I have been wanting to book a Homefans trip for years since they first popped up on my Facebook feed and finally the stars aligned and I was able to book this trip for April 2024. I have to say it was all that was promised and more & was very professionally put together from start to finish. From being met at the airport to the stadium tour trips and matchday experiences to being transferred to Rio airport at the end of the trip everything went super smoothly with the hosts keeping us updated throughout with where they would meet us and what times. We met multiple hosts during the trip accoridng to the games/stadiums we were visiting and all the ocasions were well organised with lots of local knowledge about the history of the teams/cities and we were not just taken to the locations. Before going I had countless friends tell me to be careful but at no time were we concerned about our safety or that of our posessions. Having friendly local hosts made a huge difference be it from taking us to try local street foods, beers to 'protecting' us against street sellers inflating their prices to gringos. The highlight for me was, being a lifelong Iron Maiden fan seeing the wall artwork from the Vasco Ultras, our host Mattheus then took us to the Forca Jovem Ultra's store in a non descript building which we'd never have found or thought to enter without local company. I could go on and on but all I can say is if anynone is in two minds about booking with Homefans - just do it, you will not be disappointed at all. We were trying to work out when and where we will be booking our next South American tour before we left Brazil!

Just an incredible experience from start to finish. Four unique match day experiences at some of Brazil’s biggest and most famous clubs, with the most passionate fans. Stadium tours take you deeper into the history of the clubs, stadiums and their local community. And there’s time to do some non-football tourism as well, or just enjoy your time in these incredible cities. The guides are all very helpful and makes sure everting runs smoothly. Always on hand if needed. A once in a lifetime trip that was all I hope for and more.

Where do I start, what an amazing trip. At short notice Matheus was drafted in to do the Sao Paolo part of the trip too. Him not being that familiar with Sao Paolo didn't detract from the experience. Matheus was knowledgeable, friendly and even took us to an extra game. Onto Rio, Matheus was so knowledgeable, we even got to 'hang' with some 'Ultras' prior to the Flamengo game and got to play a drum prior to the game (albeit not very well) :-) Matheus knows so many people so we got to experience the game with some of his friends too. The football was amazing, the tours of the favela in Rio and the Samba night were fantastic. If you get the chance to do this trip, do it and if you're lucky enough to get Matheus as your host consider yourself very lucky. He's a fantastic, friendly, very knowledgeable guy. A great experience for us.
