What we will do in this experience
Are you ready to embark on a football adventure that will leave you with stories for a lifetime? Buenos Aires has long been the beating heart of global football — a city where every match feels like a national holiday and the streets pulse with chants, color, and passion. Now, we’re taking our best-selling South American tour to the next level by introducing Montevideo, Uruguay — a football-mad capital just across the river, home to iconic clubs like Peñarol and Nacional.
This two-capital edition is crafted for travelers who want to dive deep into the soul of South American football. In Buenos Aires, you’ll experience two legendary matchdays — one featuring either Boca Juniors or River Plate, and another with one of Argentina’s historic clubs like San Lorenzo, Independiente, or Racing Club. You’ll be right in the middle of it all: surrounded by passionate fans, guided by locals who live and breathe the game, and immersed in the stories that make Argentine football truly unique.
But the magic doesn’t stop there. Just two hours away by ferry, Montevideo awaits. Despite its small size, Uruguay punches far above its weight in football. You’ll spend two days exploring this city’s rich football culture — from sharing traditional asado with local fans to standing inside the legendary Estadio Centenario, the birthplace of the first FIFA World Cup in 1930. You’ll visit the Uruguayan Football Museum and discover the country’s deep-rooted connection to the beautiful game — all while attending a live match with your host and fellow travelers.
This is more than a tour. It’s a celebration of football in its rawest, most passionate form — paired with great food, unforgettable people, and two cities that live for the sport. From beers in neighborhood bars to the roar of the terraces, every moment is designed to bring you closer to the heart of South American football.
You’ll be part of a small group of like-minded fans, led by expert local hosts who will guide you every step of the way — sharing their stories, their cities, and their football with you.
Notes: Flights and Ferry is not included in the price. We can add ferry as extra or help you with the tickets booking

I have a similar view to James Hilsum. Especially the prematch experience. But you also have to say that as a European you often expect this to be different. We always got into the stadium somehow, so on the whole no false promises. I would do it again.

There is no question that Homefans absolutely nailed the main aspects of the trip. There were no issues with our hotels, the transfers, and ferry tickets to and from Uruguay. Overall, we had a brilliant time and all of the hosts were excellent. A special mention has to go to Liber, who was an incredible host in Montevideo, taking us to a lovely lunch and a guided tour of the Estadio Centenario, which he delivered himself. However there were certain aspects of the matchday experiences which weren't met, and I suspect this is down to a lack of communication between the hosts and Homefans themselves. For the Independiente matchday experience (purchased as an additional extra for 260 Euros for the two of us), my dad and I were promised seats in the long side of the ground, but were seated somewhere else with an obstructed view of the scoreboard. We were also told that food was included, which was something we had to purchase ourselves. (costing roughly another £30). The Boca Juniors matchday experience was also soured as we were promised an authentic pre-match experience. What actually materialised was in excess of an hour-long wait at a convenience store, devoid of any pre-match atmosphere, where we waited to be separately taken to the vicinity of the stadium. We then had to make our own way into the ground past two security checks and meet our transportation back, when we thought we'd all be sat together. This left us both feeling extremely disappointed. I would book with Homefans again, but do feel that certain descriptions in some of the matchday experiences need to be reviewed. Hence the four and not five-star rating.

The trip was excellent. It was so well organised with all my transfers taken care of and travel between both cities. All the hosts were fantastic, so approachable and friendly. At each of the matches they helped you through the turnstiles and remained with you for the full game. I would recommend this trip to any big football fans. Boca and River were special stadiums.

The tour was well organized despite that the matches are only announced a few days before kick-off by the Argentina football association. This is something you have to bear in mind with matches in South America There is plenty of time to do sightseeing on your own and visit extra football matches. Transport from the airport to the hotel + football matches and vice versa was well arranged. The hosts were all very friendly, passionate and had a lot of knowledge about the history of the club. The organization was available via the app for questions and constantly keeping you up-tl-date. Only thing that can be improved was the breakfast at the hotel. The quality was good, but the quantity was minimum. We could only order 1 small drink and 1 dish as breakfast. Overall, the trip was well worth it and we had an amazing time!

This was my first experience with Homefans. We visited 6 games in Argentina and went for a daytrip to Montevideo to do some stadium tours. The 6 games in Argentina were all simply amazing. Every host who went with us was very passionate about his/her football team and took the responsibilities for us to arrange the transfers, tickets and to give us a excellent Argentinian football game experience. The daytrip in Montevideo was also must to do. You travel the whole day through Montevideo with the host Liber and visit 3 very nice football stadiums in Montevideo. It was a very good experience with Homefans and they organisated everything really well!
