If you're visiting Lisbon, why not experience a match at the iconic José Alvalade Stadium? I'd love to show you what a Sporting CP matchday is really all about.
You probably know Sporting as the club that developed Cristiano Ronaldo (and many others), but there's so much more to discover. A Sporting match is more than just 90 minutes of football—it's about tradition, passion, history and the unique atmosphere created by thousands of supporters every matchday.
I've planned this experience so you can enjoy the entire matchday just like a local. Not only will you get to experience the incredible pre-match atmosphere, but you'll also learn about Sporting CP, Portuguese football culture and feel completely at ease among our passionate supporters.
What can you expect?
Depending on the kick-off time (and, of course, if it suits your schedule), we may start the day with lunch at one of my favourite local restaurants, where you'll get the chance to try authentic Portuguese cuisine (which is definitely a must-try!). I know plenty of excellent places offering delicious food at reasonable prices.
Lunch is also a great opportunity for everyone to get to know each other and talk about football. This is not only about Sorting, as one of my favourite parts of hosting is seeing supporters from different countries, clubs and backgrounds sharing stories over a meal before heading to the stadium together - it is great to see how football really unites people!
After lunch, we'll make our way towards the stadium, stopping by the Official Sporting Store, where you'll have the chance to browse the latest club merchandise or pick up a souvenir to remember your visit.
Then it's time for the central figure of the matchday experience: We'll join fellow Sporting supporters outside the stadium, soak up the famous #DiadeSporting, atmosphere, enjoy a few beers (if you'd like!), and try to learn the meaning of some of the chants before kick-off. Portuguese football supporters are incredibly welcoming, especially when they see visitors embracing our club and culture, so I'm sure you'll feel part of the family from the very beginning.
Finally, we will head inside José Alvalade Stadium to enjoy the match together. Sit back, take in the atmosphere and experience what it's like to support Sporting CP alongside thousands of passionate fans.
Why choose this experience?
I've been a Sporting supporter all my life and worked as a ball boy at the club, so I have plenty of stories, behind-the-scenes memories and interesting facts to share throughout the day.
I am not the extreme ultra - I simply love football, meeting new people and showing visitors what makes Sporting CP and Portuguese football so special. My goal is for you to leave not only having watched a match, but having made new friends and experienced a genuine Portuguese football day.
Please note:
(i) The Fixture exact date and kick-off times may change due to European competitions. Although matches are generally played over the weekend, they can be either on Friday, Saturday, Sunday or Monday. We try to confirm the exact dates as soon as they are confirmed.
(ii) Tickets are not guaranteed for bookings made with less than three days before the match. This happens has the stadium may already be sold out. (In that case, we can see alternative solutions and costs).
(iii) Lunch is optional and is not included in the price of the experience. As every group is different, we'll choose a restaurant together based on your preferences, budget and dietary requirements.
